The bank statement must include the account holder’s name and the date the
account was opened.

Form I-20 is an official document approved by the U.S. government and issued by certified educational institutions. This form is needed by potential students to obtain non-immigrant visas of categories F-1 and M-1. Form I-20 is evidence of enrollment in an educational institution. It contains all the necessary data for paying the SEVIS I-901 fee, applying for a visa, changing visa status, and entering the USA. Form I-20 contains the student's identification number in the SEVIS system. This number is located in the upper right corner of the form above the barcode, it starts with the letter N, followed by nine digits.
It is recommended to apply for a non-immigrant student visa immediately after receiving Form I-20. Applying for the visa early allows you to schedule the interview in a timely manner.
You can enter the USA no earlier than 30 days before the start date of your education indicated on the Form I-20, regardless of the visa issuance date.
Yes, you can. It is better to do this before obtaining the visa or after arriving in the USA, as the name of the educational institution on the Form I-20 and in the annotation on your visa must match. If they do not match, or if you inform an immigration officer of your intention to study at an institution not indicated in the annotation, they may deny you entry into the USA.
The waiting time for the Form I-20 depends on the educational institution. On average, the waiting time for the Form I-20 is 2-5 business days.
The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) is a program through which educational institutions and exchange program administrators are required to confirm the status of their foreign students and exchange visitors, both upon their enrollment and throughout their program participation. Applicants applying for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee before the visa is issued. For more information, please visit the SEVIS website.
