Form I-20 is an official document approved by the U.S. government and issued by certified educational institutions. This form is needed by potential students to obtain non-immigrant visas of categories F-1 and M-1. Form I-20 is evidence of enrollment in an educational institution. It contains all the necessary data for paying the SEVIS I-901 fee, applying for a visa, changing visa status, and entering the USA. Form I-20 contains the student's identification number in the SEVIS system. This number is located in the upper right corner of the form above the barcode, it starts with the letter N, followed by nine digits.
